Nickelodeon has given the green light on 20 episodes of How To Rock, a new live-action comedy series featuring original music and starring teen actress and recording artist Cymphonique Miller.

The original series will join the network’s ranks of music-themed shows like Victorious and Big Time Rush. Set to premiere in 2012, How To Rock centers on Kacey Simon (Miller), a talented teenager who takes her pop/hip-hop band to new heights as their lead singer.

The series will be produced by Nickelodeon in association with Alloy Entertainment – the media outlet behind such tween and teen girls-oriented productions as Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries and Pretty Little Liars, as well as web series including First Day and Hollywood Is Like High School with Money.
