YouTube picks up Giganto Club

EXCLUSIVE: Cyber Group Studios' first series developed and produced entirely in a real-time animation pipeline will launch exclusively on YouTube Kids worldwide on February 3.
February 1, 2022

Cyber Group Studios has signed an exclusive deal with YouTube for Giganto Club, its first digital-first and real-time animated series.

Available in English, French, Italian, Spanish and German, the 26 x 11-minute preschool series (pictured) will premiere worldwide on YouTube Kids across all devices on February 3.

Designed in the style of a primetime talk show, Giganto Club is hosted by a pair of real-time 3D-animated dinos that engage viewers with games, songs, news, featured guests and geographical segments. But it isn’t a traditional spinoff of Cyber Group’s popular Gigantosaurus series, since it features new characters, landscapes and locations.

Giganto Club was developed and produced at Cyber Group’s real-time animation studio in Roubaix, France, using XSENS motion capture technology powered by Epic Games’ Unreal Engine. In February 2021, Cyber Group received an Epic MegaGrant to support the development of its Roubaix pipeline, as well as the production of Giganto Club and two other new animated kids series—Cyber Group USA’s Monster in My Pocket and Bee Prod/Webedia co-pro Alex Player.

Cyber Group co-founder and SVP Olivier Lelardoux directed Giganto Club from scripts penned by Mickael Frison and Jacqueline Moody (Gigantosaurus). Supervising the series is real-time production specialist Andreas Carlen, who joined Cyber Group last February.

Cyber Group’s experimentation division, Cyber Labs, heads up its virtual production and real-time animation projects. The technology is expected to play a bigger role in the company’s ongoing strategy to expand into new global markets. For example, Cyber Group recently announced that its latest acquisition, A Productions (JoJo & Gran Gran) in the UK, plans to invest in and benefit from its new owner’s real-time pipeline.
