Plopsa, the theme-park division of the Belgian media enterprise Studio 100, has purchased the amusement and adventure park Holiday Park in Hassloch, South West Germany, which is scheduled to reopen in April 2011.
Plopsa, which already operates three theme parks in Belgium and one in the Netherlands, intends to invest US$35 million over the next four years. While the park will retain The Holiday Park name and its current number of employees, its branding will eventually take its cue from the Studio 100 brands.
Studio100 Media owns the rights to classic German TV brands such as Maya the Bee, Vicky the Viking, Heidi and Tabaluga, all of which hold a strong presence in the parks.
