The first licensing deal for Universal Music’s Uki character has been inked with Egmont, which will produce a range of books featuring the preschool character whose series currently airs on CBeebies.
The range includes 10-minute tales, pocket library books, annuals, coloring and activity books and story books for the UK market.
Each of Uki‘s 52 x five-minute episodes describes a day in the title character’s life and use sounds instead of words to communicate with preschool viewers.
The show currently airs in Belgium on children’s channels Ketnet and Club RTL and has been sold into Australia, Portugal, Finland, Norway, Poland, Israel, South Africa, Taiwan, the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
