While location-based entertainment experienced an ice age during the pandemic, the frost is quickly thawing and new partnerships are emerging. Paris’s Cyber Group Studios has inked a deal with UK-based theme park Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure to develop the first live experience for its flagship preschool IP Gigantosaurus.
Gigantosaurus Land will roll out in three phases, with the first launching in 2024. The four-acre play area will feature several interactive attractions, including a volcano-themed vertical drop ride, a large wooden den for kids to climb and a dino-themed slide.
The new addition to the park will be included in the admission price and also includes a retail area featuring food outlets and a gift shop with a range of branded and themed products.
UK-based licensing and consulting agency bRAND-WARD helped broker the partnership, which took two years to negotiate and nine months for the park to receive planning permissions from the UK government for the new expansion, according to a release.
It’s the right time to launch Gigantosaurus Land because after two years of the pandemic there’s pent-up demand from UK audiences for new experiences, says a Cyber Group spokesperson. In the UK, the series is available on Netflix, Disney + and Tiny Pop.
Work on Gigantosaurus Land will start in January. To help build the area within the 85-acre park, Roarr! Is partnering with several consultant teams in the UK including independent audio contractor Adrian James Acoustics, area development agency Pegasus Group and civil engineering company Plandescil.
Meanwhile, other IP-centric live experiences will be launching next year, including the North American touring stage show Angry Birds Live: The Slingshot Adventure from LA-based Kilburn Live. And Florida-based Falcon’s Beyond is expanding to the Caribbean in early 2023, launching its destination resort brand Katmandu in Punta Cana.
