Sesame Workshop has promoted Dr. Jeanette Betancourt to SVP for outreach and educational practices.

The Sesame Workshop vet is responsible for conceptualizing, developing and delivering new outreach models to targeted audiences and communities most in need. She also maintains and expands a network of national organizations that are strategic partners within the educational and manages the versioning of these initiatives into multiple languages as well as the research that accompanies each project.

Through her work with Sesame Workshop, Betancourt has developed such initiatives in the areas of literacy, school readiness, math, music, health and safety, resiliency, military transitions and child care, as well as programs in Colombia and Jamaica. She is a licensed bilingual speech and language pathologist and educational therapist with a specialty in treating families and children with psychiatric disorders.
