Moonbug Entertainment has partnered with telco O2 in Czech Republic (also known as Czechia) to launch the Moonbug Kids Channel in-country.
The channel features Moonbug’s entire portfolio of series, including the IPs CoComelon and Blippi, along with newer fare such as Little Angel and Oddbods. It went live this week on March 15 and is available in English.
The debut in the Czech Republic is the latest linear move from Moonbug, following the launch of the Moonbug Kids channel across 45 African countries via African satellite service DStv last fall.
In other Moonbug news, the company revealed a deal with Indonesian OTT service Vidio to stream all of its content in two languages: English and Bahasa Indonesia. Under the partnership, select Moonbug content will also air on Vidio-owned conglomerate Emtek’s pay channel Horee, as well as on Mentari TV. The deal has been in play since February 6.
Created in 2014, Vidio is the first OTT launched in Indonesia. It is one of the largest streaming platforms in Southeast Asia, surpassing Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime in subscribers last year, according to research firm Media Partners Asia’s Insights & Analytics report. It ended Q3 2022 with 4 million subscribers.
