Emilie Pasquet
Mevelyn Noriega’s one-month-old company Wonderworld.Fun has made its first executive hire and is preparing to bring three kids and family series to pitch at Annecy.
Joining the LA-based prodco as VP of distribution and co-production is former Mondo TV and Bejuba! sales executive Emilie Pasquet. She started yesterday and will spearhead international sales, acquisitions and co-pros with CEO Noriega, from her homebase in France.
Pasquet has also worked in international sales for Spain’s BRB Internacional, and was most recently a business development manager at digital content producer Studio Redfrog.
She’s jumping right into her Wonderworld role, heading to Annecy with Noriega next week to pitch three new CG-animated series: Secret Agent Jack Stalwart (28 x 30 minutes), Walk off The Earth in Space! (14 x 30 minutes) and Heroes in Training (28 x 30 minutes).
Jack Stalwart, which Wonderworld is developing as two 14 x 30-minute seasons, follows an inexperienced secret agent who travels the world using gadgets and solving mysteries while searching for his missing brother.
Wonderworld is blending music with intergalactic themes in Walk Off The Earth in Space!, about a human pop band that gets abducted by aliens and then discovers they all have superpowers. They book gigs in space while honing their new abilities to battle the universe’s ultimate baddie.
Heroes in Training, also planned as two 14 x 30-minute seasons, is an adaptation of Suzanne Williams’ Goddess Girls book series, which spans more than 20 titles that have been published by Simon & Schuster. In the show concept, six Greek gods learn about their powers while journeying to iconic mythological locations to save the world.
