Strawberry Shortcake celebrates 30th anniversary

American Greetings Properties, the IP and outbound licensing division of American Greetings Corporation, has released a series of 30th anniversary initiatives for its Strawberry Shortcake brand.

Coinciding with the recent debut of the CGI-animated series Strawberry Shortcake’s Berry Bitty Adventures on The Hub, a special 30th anniversary doll collector’s set (US$29.99) from Hasbro will launch next month that includes replicas of three original SS characters.

A series of digital offerings are also complementing the promotion and will include an iPhone app that allows players to help Strawberry Shortcake fill smoothie orders.

A digitally integrated McDonald’s Happy Meal promotion and a partnership with charity Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation are also timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary campaign.
