Nex and Sesame Workshop have joined forces to launch a new generation of active educational games.

The San Francisco-based tech company and the nonprofit are launching a suite of games that utilize Nex’s proprietary motion-capture and image-processing technology, which allows kids preschool-age and up to control the on-screen action with their movements.

Designed to be enjoyed by the whole family, the games feature Sesame Street characters like Elmo and Cookie Monster, who will help players use their bodies to complete challenges.

The collection will roll out this spring on the Nex Playground active entertainment console, and will be included in the Play Pass content subscription bundle. The system launched in December 2023, and is currently available in the US, Hong Kong and Taiwan, with more countries expected to be added this year.

“We are thrilled to team up with Nex to produce these innovative new games that will have kids up on their feet playing with their favorite Sesame Street friends,” said Sesame Workshop’s SVP Global Licensing Gabriela Arenas in a statement. “We know that kids learn best when they are engaged and having fun, and these games will do just that.”
