LEGO and Hasbro build b-day momentum for Peppa Pig

The companies are launching new European park experiences and Duplo building sets together to celebrate the preschool brand's 20th anniversary.

Pulling out all the stops to celebrate Peppa Pig’s 20th anniversary this year, Hasbro and The LEGO Group have teamed up to launch the brand’s first standalone theme park next door to LEGOLAND Deutschland in Germany this May. 

Operated by Merlin Entertainments, the park will feature seven themed playgrounds and five attractions, including a roller coaster for preschoolers. And LEGO is offering a two-day admission for both parks. 

This larger-scale project will follow on the heels of a LEGO Duplo Peppa Pig play area (pictured) in the new LEGOLAND Billund that Merlin is opening in Denmark on March 23. It features a theatrical stage and LEGO versions of houses, slides and a boat from the series for kids to explore. 

Merlin, which operates all of LEGO’s parks, noted in its latest half-year review (January to June 2023) that LEGOLAND locations in Europe and Asia-Pacific have rebounded from the pandemic and are now driving growth. 

In other Peppa news, four new LEGO Duplo building sets for preschoolers (featuring a garden and treehouse, a boat trip, a supermarket and a birthday party) are launching worldwide starting on June 1 via LEGO’s storefronts and third-party retailers.
