Toronto-based prodco Sinking Ship Entertainment has struck a raft of new consumer product deals for its live-action educational comedy series Odd Squad (108 x 22 minutes).

In the US, Sinking Ship has signed a deal with St.Louis-based Really Big Coloring Books to manufacture and distribute up to 14 Odd Squad books by the end of this summer. Product drops have already begun, with the publisher launching two new coloring books at Walmart, Amazon and PBS affiliate e-commerce sites earlier this month.

Sinking Ship is also partnering with Oklahoma-based ice cream chain Braum’s to launch a new licensed kids’ meal toy program in Q2 at more than 300 of its storefronts across the US. Braum’s has also developed kids meals for a wide range of brands, including Blippi (2023), Max and Ruby (2021) and Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood (2019).

Meanwhile, France TV Distribution brokered a deal for the Odd Squad franchise with French publisher Larousse. As part of the agreement, Larousse will roll out three new licensed titles in the territory this fall, on the heels of launching the IP’s first two books earlier this month.

Sinking Ship has sold the Odd Squad series to more than 150 countries since its debut in 2014. And the Canadian prodco and BBC Studios Kids & Family are co-producing a new British version of the show Odd Squad UK (12 x 30 minutes) that’s slated to launch this fall on BBC iPlayer. It will follow a fresh British cast of secret government agents who use their math skills to solve strange occurrences around town.
