The Jim Henson Company and LA-based indie animation studio The Operating Room (Hawkmaster, Stuffed) have partnered to develop a new CG/live-action series called Adrenaline Lemmings.
This adventure/comedy concept features four stunt-loving lemmings who get stranded in the big city. Adapting to their new environment, they start training for an X Games-style stunt competition so they can win the money they need to return home.
Director/story artist Alex Orrelle (head of story on Warner Bros. Entertainment’s Space Jam 2), writer/producer David Israel (Dynasty, 3rd Rock from the Sun) and producer/president of The Operating Room Oded Turgeman (Summer Memories) co-created the series based on animated shorts produced by Orrelle and director J.P. Vine (Ron’s Gon Wrong)
“Adrenaline Lemmings allows us to branch out into animation for older kids with an exciting live-action/CG hybrid look, plus do ‘daring’ physical character comedy for kids in the tradition of some of our company’s best-known productions,” says Henson television president Halle Stanford.
Henson and The Operating Room have agreed to co-produce the series together, with Lisa Henson and Stanford exec producing for Henson, and Turgeman and partner Roby Freireich representing The Operating Room.
