- Hasbro has forged a new partnership with Amazon Music to launch a global Peppa Pig Dance party campaign in cities across the US, the UK and Germany in August. Celebrating the brand’s 20th anniversary and the release of Peppa’s new hit single “The Piggle Wiggle,” these live events will kick off on August 3 at Merlin Entertainments’ Peppa Pig World of Play attractions in Chicago, Dallas and Michigan, before heading to Peppa Pig parks in Florida and Günzburg, Germany and Butlin’s Resorts in the UK. The dance parties will feature party games, interactive dress-up activities and exclusive products. And Amazon Kids+ is also releasing a new Alexa Skill for the campaign that will teach children how to do the Piggle Wiggle dance.
- France’s Mediawan has taken to the skies with Air France to launch a special 13-minute event episode of Miraculous: Ladybug and Cat Noir called “Welcome to Paris.” Starting on August 1, the episode will air in French and English on long-haul Air France flights (36,000 screens) for one year, and will be made available online for a wider audience in the coming months. Viewers are taken on an educational journey through the City of Light as the show’s heroes work together to stop the villainous Hawk Moth’s plan to make several iconic Parisian monuments disappear.
- IDW Publishing has struck a deal with Paramount to release a new comic book line based on the popular teen animated series Star Trek: Lower Decks. The comics will start hitting retail on November 13, with Eisner winners Ryan North and Derek Charm (Unbeatable Squirrel Girl) on board as writer and illustrator, respectively. The announcement was made on the final day of San Diego Comic-Con this past weekend.
