Summer Camp Island mastermind Julia Pott and Phil of the Future actor Raviv Ullman are showrunning this live-action project they co-created together.

The Jim Henson Company has teamed up with Julia Pott, creator of Cartoon Network’s animated series Summer Camp Island, and actor Raviv Ullman to develop a new live-action/puppet series called Paul the Bear.

At the heart of this concept is a recently retired brown bear who worked for many years and is finally ready to enjoy some peace and quiet in his English seaside town. But as he adjusts to his new lifestyle, Paul quickly discovers that it isn’t so easy to strike a balance between connecting with his community and spending time on himself.

Pott and Ullman, who starred in Disney’s Phil of the Future series, co-created Paul the Bear together and are both on board as showrunners. The series will feature a mixed-media cast of puppet animals, real people and a non-verbal lead character.

The Jim Henson Company’s Lisa Henson and Halle Stanford are executive producers on the series, alongside Pott and Ullman.
