DEALS: Pokémon catches first UK health and beauty deal with H&A

Plus, Warner Bros. Discovery has picked up Booba season five, Xilam Animation has secured new broadcasters for Piggy Builders, and more.

  • The Pokémon Company International has inked a new deal with H&A to launch the franchise’s first health and beauty range in the UK. The new collection will roll out exclusively at Boots retailers later this month, which includes branded SKUs of bath fizzers, bubble bath, shower gel, lip balms and soaps. 

 

  • Warner Bros. Discovery has acquired the fifth season of CG-animated preschool series Booba (26 x seven minutes) from Kedoo Entertainment. WBD is airing Booba now across LatAm through HBO Max, and will expand the season to APAC and EMEA markets later this year.  

 

  • Xilam Animation has secured several new broadcasters for its CG-animated preschool toon Piggy Builders, including VRT Ketnet (Belgium), Téléquebec (French Canada), YLE (Finland), Warner Bros. Discovery (Italy), RTS (Switzerland) and SVT (Sweden). Meanwhile, France TV Distribution has also come on board as the series’ licensing agent, where it will aim to build new consumer products partnerships at Brand Licensing Europe next month. 

 

  • Anima Kitchent and Mocca Studio are expanding the reach of their 2D-animated educational series Tippi T-Rex to China through a deal with Beijing-based distributor 24 Bridges. The sale includes the core series of 52 episodes, four original songs and 14 three-minute shorts. 

 

  • Paris-based animation studio Les Valseurs has sold its black-and-white shorts series Samuel (21 x five minutes) to Téléquebec (French Canada), RTS (Switzerland) and NTV (Chile). The 2D-animated toon has also been picked up previously by Netflix, Arte, RTVE and TV3.
