In what may be the most sought-after costume deal of the year, Spirit Halloween has buttoned up the rights to Sony Pictures Animation’s KPop Demon Hunters (pictured).

Kidscreen has confirmed that Netflix has tapped the seasonal retailer to develop costumes based on the film about a K-Pop girl group that performs at packed stadiums and slays demons (often at the same time). The range is due to hit retail on time for Halloween this year.

No other specifics are known about the deal though the partnership makes a lot of sense, with the retailer having licensed other hit Netflix titles, such as Stranger Things and Squid Game. Plus, Spirit is already selling T-shirts featuring characters from the kids streaming hit.

As Netflix’s most popular English-language movie of all time with a whopping 266 million views, there’s no doubt that Huntr/x and Saja Boys costumes will be pretty high on kids’ wishlists heading into the Halloween season.

Though things were quiet on the L&M front for KPop Demon Hunters before its unexpected breakout success, activity has spiked significantly since the film’s release, with recent deals for everything from branded noodles (Nongshim) to collectible figures (Funko).

Merchandise like stickers, plushies, shirts, jackets, pins and phone cases have been available on the official Netflix storefront since release. In early July, a Huntr/x Tee and a Derpy Tiger plush were already ranking among the shop’s top five bestsellers of the year.
