- Toei Animation Europe, the company behind kid-friendly anime Digimon and Dragon Ball, has hired Paris-based Akira Yamaguchi as its VP to oversee business growth in EMEA. Yamaguchi has held several business development roles in the media industry over the past 15 years, often building connections between North American and Japanese businesses. Some highlights from her career include as a business development consultant for Toon Boom Animation and a consultant with Japanese video game developer CyberConnect2 (Naruto: Ultimate Ninja). Yamaguchi previously worked at Toei Animation Europe almost 20 years ago (2006 to 2009) as manager of licensing and production.
