DEALS: Pinkfong says “Noot noot!” to distributing Pingu in South Korea

  • Pinkfong has signed on to distribute Mattel’s classic Pingu content in South Korea, spanning titles like the original Pingu series, a Pingu at the Wedding Party special and spinoff toon Pingu in the City. Pinkfong says episodes will roll out on a weekly basis across multiple pay-TV and digital platforms, starting September 19. The deal should help build buzz for the brand ahead of an upcoming revival series from Mattel and Aardman.

 

  • Sony Pictures Television has reupped a four-year-old deal with Sinema TV in Turkey for first-run rights to most of Sony’s film catalogue. The extended agreement includes exclusive rights to recent kids & family releases like Karate Kid: Legends and Paddington in Peru, and franchises like Spider-Man and Hotel Transylvania are also covered.
