- Preschool YouTube channel ChuChu TV has appointed New York’s Cookbook Media to help expand the brand’s presence in the North American market. The agency will focus initially on unlocking new revenue streams for the IP across content sales, publishing, toys, live experiences, gaming and digital products. The channel, which launched in 2013, has more than 175 million subscribers tuning in for its nursery rhymes and animated songs.
- ABC Australia has closed a multi-season deal for Lion Forge Entertainment’s CG-animated fantasy-adventure series Iyanu. Season one (10 x 22 minutes) will premiere on ABC iview and ABC Entertains next week, with a second season slated to follow next year.
- Czech prodco BIG Media has taken an equity stake in the Kids Crew TV YouTube channel, which recently reached a milestone of 2.5 million subscribers. BIG will also spearhead marketing, distribution and regional localization of all Kids Crew content for international broadcasters and streamers. Meanwhile, Kids Crew will use BIG’s new green-screen soundstage in Prague for its future production needs.
