Kids don’t want action-packed games when they’re on Roblox—they want chill role-playing games where they can hang out with friends and explore their interests.
Kids and brands continue to flock to Roblox, and studios are starting to mine the popular platform for creations they can turn into TV or film adaptations (like 9 Story Media Group and Baobab’s Momoguro, which began life as a Roblox game). Research agency Childwise explored this in its recently released Summer 2025 Playground Buzz report, which surveyed more than 1,360 UK kids ages three to 12 online from June to July 2025.
Childwise found that Roblox was the top choice for playing mobile games among kids aged seven to 12. And this demo’s top-five favorite Roblox titles are:
- Grow A Garden
- Dress to Impress
- Brookhaven
- Blox Fruits
- Adopt Me
There are some familiar names for the industry there, especially Grow A Garden, since Roblox recently highlighted this gardening simulator’s success in its quarterly results. Back in July, it was the only title to have more than 10 million active users, and just last month, PhatMojo signed on as the first global toy partner to expand the game into CP. It seems like a simple gardening game, but its live events and regular updates keep kids engaged, Childwise notes. The gardening game’s popularity is also cultivated by an outgrowth of short-form vids on TikTok.
Dress To Impress, which was previously the consistent number-one game among kids, is a dress-up game that appeals to them because they can explore their fashion, style and identity.
The vast, simulated roleplaying world of Brookhaven is similar, since kids can explore identities and simulate real-life scenarios in the game’s relatively safe space.
Blox Fruits is a roleplaying game inspired by the popular (especially among boys) manga and anime brand One Piece.
And finally, the pet-adoption game Adopt Me is a long-standing kids favorite—it was the first Roblox game ever to surpass 20 billion visits.
Roleplaying is key to all of these games, as kids crave the comfort of exploring their own imaginations and embracing elements of life they don’t currently have access to—and is a particularly favorite genre among girls, the report notes.
And it’s not just 7-to-12s that love Grow A Garden, Dress to Impress and Adopt Me—those games are also the top three among 13 to 17s, showing the power that titles about roleplaying and self-expression have to resonate with kids across all demos. (The fourth and fifth top games among tweens/teens are the horror games Piggy and Flee the Facility.)
Childwise’s 55-page report also explores several other categories of favorites among kids ages seven to 12, including YouTubers (MrBeast, Salish Matter and Chuff/Chuffsters) and films (A Minecraft Movie, Lilo & Stitch and the Harry Potter franchise). It also highlights a few trends and hot topics among kids, including Labubus, KPop Demon Hunters, football, and K-dramas and C-dramas (China dramas), which teens are especially hungry for.
