- Boat Rocker Studios is trying out some new brand moves, teaming up with MRG Live to launch a touring show inspired by live-action teen drama series The Next Step. The Next Step: Legacy World Tour (pictured) will make stops in Canada, the UK, Ireland and Australia during its February to April run next year, featuring choreography from the series that has been on air for a decade. (Its 10th season is currently available on CBBC and iPlayer, ABC and YTV.) Ticket presales for the live show start on October 29. The Next Step is something of a hot property at the moment; earlier this month, CBBC and iPlayer announced a commission for a spinoff called The Next Step: Cheer.
- Wow! Stuff is winding down its UK distribution partnership with DKB Toys & Distribution at the end of this year, with plans to announce a new partner in the next few weeks. DKB will continue distributing Wow! Stuff products for the rest of 2025, with the new partner taking over supplying retailers starting on January 1.
- FIFA has named Jazwares as the worldwide plush licensee for the hotly anticipated FIFA World Cup 2026. A full range of toys including plush, wearables and novelty items will be available in stores and online in June, just in advance of the World Cup’s kick-off. Traditionally a massive event; it’s estimated that 1.5 billion watched the 2022 World Cup final.
