The world’s biggest kid-friendly YouTube star is signaling that he’s in major growth mode. Jimmy Donaldson (a.k.a. MrBeast) has made multiple executive appointments at his company Beast Industries.
TikTok’s former head of industry, media and entertainment Kelly Calabrese just joined as VP of global media and brand partnerships. And e-commerce software-maker Rokt alum Byron Kendal has come on board as VP of talent acquisition and technology. There’s also a new VP of brand partnerships, Noah Wieseneck, who previously held a similar role at Snap and Google.
These hires come after former NBCU unscripted exec Corie Henson joined as president of the YouTuber’s studio division in September.
According to a Bloomberg report from earlier this year, MrBeast has been in talks to raise funding for his company at a US$5-billion valuation.
With these latest executive hires focusing on areas like brand partnerships and talent acquisition, it’s a strong indication that he’s positioning his company for growth and expansion. MrBeast’s content business includes the viral videos on his YouTube channel (450 million subscribers), his Prime Video competition series Beast Games and, most recently, a collection of animated shorts based on the MrBeast Lab toy line from Moose Toys.
