- In what it considers to be a long overdue deal, Welsh broadcaster S4C will finally get its hands on Bluey (Blŵi in Welsh) at the end of the year. The preschool series’ first season is being dubbed into Welsh by Tinopolis and will join S4C’s lineup starting on December 30, just in time to catch kids on school break for the holidays. In a release, Sioned Geraint, S4C’s content commissioner for children and learners, said: “This is a long-awaited arrival by our young viewers, and the excitement that [Bluey’s] finally here is something that, as a commissioner, I will treasure.”
- Spain’s Anima Kitchent has signed a two-year distribution agreement for its animated preschool brand Cuquín with Turkiye’s Fauna Entertainment. As part of the deal, Fauna will manage a Turkish YouTube channel, where it plans to launch dubbed seasons one and two of Cleo and Cuquín and 20 music videos.
- Disney+ has picked up the rights to premiere an upcoming sixth season of 3D Sparrow’s CG-animated series Booba in early 2026. The new 26 x seven-minute season (titled Booba & Loola) is in production now, and owner Kedoo Entertainment is looking for more broadcast partners. In this dialogue-free comedy for two- to eight-year-olds, a curious creature tries new things ranging from magic to cooking.
- Angel has picked up a new faith-based holiday film from The Fairly OddParents creator Butch Hartman that it will launch on December 11. Produced by Hartman’s new animation studio, The Christmas King! A Garden Cartoon Holiday Movie! focuses on a lion and a lamb who have to deliver the first snowflake of Christmas to the Christmas King in order to save the holidays. Hartman is the 2D-animated musical film’s executive producer and director, and he also wrote all of its songs. Angel already licenses Hartman’s series The Garden Cartoon, about a lion and a lamb who learn biblical lessons through original songs.
- Kartoon Studios has inked a deal with US pediatric hospital network Shriners Children’s to provide free access to its AVOD platforms Kartoon Channel! and Ameba TV in hospitals across the US. Kartoon has also granted Shriners the rights to use Stan Lee’s name, image, voice and likeness in a superhero-themed fundraising campaign, which will feature animation and messaging inspired by Lee.
