DEALS: WBD renews Clawlolo and expands it to EMEA

Plus, Rocket Licensing has secured more licenses for Dog Man.

  • Warner Bros. Discovery EMEA has renewed Cyprus-based studio Rymanco Ventures’ dialogue-free 2D-animated comedy series Clawlolo for a second season (26 x three minutes). Epic Story Media, which distributes the series, secured the commission. The new season will air exclusively on WBD’s kids nets in EMEA and its global Cartoonito YouTube channels. WBD has also acquired season one to air across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, following its launch in Italy. The series (pictured) for three- to nine-year-olds is about the underwater adventures of a crab and his friends.

  • Also on the WBD front, HBO Max ordered a 2D-animated series called The Colorado from Mexico’s THR3 Media Group that’s inspired by the bumbling superhero The Chapulín Colorado. Writer and actor Roberto Gómez Bolaños (also known as Chespirito) created this character for the sitcom El Chapulín Colorado in the ’70s. There was also an animated series featuring the character that ran from 2015 to 2017. This new series aimed at kids eight and up focuses on the comedic adventures this superhero has with his family. It’s in production and was first announced last year.

  • Rocket Licensing has fetched two new licensing partners for the Dog Man book series in the UK. Dreamtex (which has other big licenses like Bluey and Moana) will make bedding, towels and cushions, while Warmies (which has licenses for Snoopy and SpongeBob products) will make comforting microwave-heatable plush. Dreamtex’s products will launch in the spring, while Warmies’ products will roll out next fall.

  • Brand Zone has tapped Big Picture Licensing to represent Tattoo Zoo, a toy brand about cute animals with tattoos, in the UK and Ireland. Eolo Toys is already signed on as master toy partner for the brand and is set to launch a line globally in 2026.

  • Banijay Kids & Family has teamed up with Paris-based We Are Tokyo to launch a range of vintage cassette tapes, CDs and posters for its educational series Once Upon a Time…Space. The products will launch in early 2026. Some of We Are Tokyo’s current licenses include Molang (CDs) and Astro Boy (a small statue).
