Entertainment Earth hires an ex-Mattel and Disney exec as CEO

The California-based online retailer and wholesaler has just installed John Louie as its new CEO. Louie has a long history in the kids business, having held key consumer products and strategy positions at Mattel (VP of strategic development and M&A) and Disney (global category director). Most recently, he was chief of staff and head of strategy and business transformation at Funko. Louie succeeds Billy Lagor, who’s departing the company to join Hasbro as president of toys & games. Entertainment Earth sells a catalogue of licensed figures and other collectible products from a stable of brands that includes Star Wars, Marvel, DC, One Piece and Hot Wheels.

The Entertainer rejigs its C-suite as a trio of execs depart

The UK retailer, which stocks thousands of toys and games in 160 stores and online, is restructuring its leadership at the beginning of February to deal with the departure of three key staffers (chief product officer Brian Proctor, acting chief commercial officer Heather Robbins and director of trading Sarah Cannon). Geoff Sheffield, who’s been with the company for close to six years, has been named acting buyer director and will lead the company’s buying, licensing and quality assurance teams. And channels director Lisa Hollidge was promoted to acting trading and channels director, with responsibility for trading and merchandising. Both report to The Entertrainer Group CEO Andrew Murphy, and all three will be at London Toy Fair next week.
