Spin Master has teamed up with Italian toy company Officina Comunicazione to bring its meme-inspired trading card game Skifidol Italian Brainrot to North America.

The cards feature AI-made art featuring some pretty wild characters, including a shark wearing shoes, a ninja who’s also a coffee cup, and a person with spaghetti for hair. They’re aimed at kids ages eight and up, and Officina Comunicazione launched its first card pack in May 2025.

The Skifidol Italian Brainrot brand is inspired by AI-generated characters that have taken social media and YouTube by storm. There’s plenty of related UGC content to engage fans on these platforms, including the video “Opening Italian Brain Rot TCG pack,” which has three million views. The cards often mine memes for inspiration; for example, there’s one called Six-Seven in the collection.

Officina Comunicazione has already expanded the IP with plush, back-to-school products, a calendar and a Roblox game (Find the Skifidol Brainrot Card) that has racked up more than 3.5 million visits.

This new partnership marks Spin Master’s first return to the trading card market since Bakugan. It sees potential in getting back into the hot category with a brand that already has viral popularity, according to a company spokesperson. TCGs were noted as a top-growing toy segment by Circana in August, thanks in large part to category leader Pokémon and sports cards.

“As a company, we’re looking at entering high-growth toy categories, and trading cards have seen tremendous growth over the past few years,” says the Spin Master spokesperson we spoke with. “Skifidol Italian Brainrot taps into the kind of internet-native humor that kids and tweens instantly connect with, regardless of geography. Its organic growth and passionate fanbase made it a compelling opportunity for us.”

Spin Master will be the exclusive distributor for Skifidol Italian Brainrot across the US and Canada, and the first product to come to North American shores will be an English-language card set.

“Skifidol Italian Brainrot reflects a broader trend in kids and tween entertainment—content that embraces absurdity, humor and rapid-fire digital culture,” says the same Spin Master spokesperson. “This represents an opportunity for us to meet young audiences where they already are, translating viral digital moments into physical products that feel authentic and collectible. [It’s] a strong example of how internet-driven IPs can successfully evolve into engaging play experiences.”
