Going back to her kid biz roots, actor/performer JoJo Siwa will soon be developing digital-first animated content under a strategic partnership with Bhooshan’s Junior in India.
This tech-focused company specializes in video content for two- to 14-year-olds that can be expanded into broader franchises with series, games, consumer products and immersive experiences. Some of the IPs it has launched on YouTube to date include Louie & Douie and Jhoom Tara Ra Ra.
“Animation has always been a huge passion of mine,” Siwa says. “I’m involved in every step of the animation process, from creative development through execution.”
Thomas Global Media will serve as the licensing agent for any animated content that comes out of the collaboration between Siwa and Bhooshan’s Junior.
Siwa initially became popular as the youngest contestant on Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition and then as a cast member in US reality series Dance Moms. She went on to build a name for herself as a popular performer and social media personality in the 2010s. (Remember the tween craze fueled by her signature giant bows?)
Signing with Nickelodeon in 2017, Siwa appeared in TV movie Blurt! and shows like Lip Sync Battle Shorties, and her thriving off-screen business expanded to include consumer products from more than 230 licensees and a 2019 concert tour.
This latest deal brings Siwa back into the kids entertainment fold after a rebrand in 2024 to shift away from her family-friendly image and make older-skewing pop music.
