MLB hopes its YouTube channel is a home run with kids

The league is loading its bases with content partnerships with Crayola, ABCmouse and Tiny Chef co-creator Adam Reid.

Major League Baseball is launching a YouTube channel for kids called MLB Clubhouse, and it’s hoping that partnering with some big brands will help knock this kids content initiative out of the park.

The channel, launching today, features animation, educational content and game highlights to help draw kids to baseball. With Clubhouse, the MLB is joining other major sports leagues, like the NBA, the NFL, the NHL and even F1, that have already been making efforts to age down their own audiences and build appeal with a new generation of viewers.

The MLB says that baseball and softball combined are already the most-played sports in the US among ages six to 12, but the channel is the league’s way to give kids yet another avenue to discover the pastime and become lifelong fans.

“Baseball has always been a sport that brings families and communities together, and MLB Clubhouse is an exciting new way to introduce the game to young fans,” said Gregg Klayman, SVP of product development and content strategy at MLB. “By creating content specifically designed for kids on a platform where they are already watching, we hope to inspire curiosity, creativity and a lifelong love of baseball.”

The MLB has fielded some well-known partners to support the channel with new and existing content.

First up, the league teamed up with Crayola and production company Mango Moon Productions to make a 34-episode how-to drawing series MLB Art Club. In the series, an artist teaches kids how to draw MLB mascots and iconography from different teams (or clubs, in baseball speech). While drawing, the artist will also share fun facts, trivia and stories about each club.

Meanwhile, creator and writer Adam Reid (The Tiny Chef Show) created The Doug Out! (pictured, 20 x two to four minutes), a stop-motion animated series where two friends explore the sport by sharing stories celebrating teams and spotlighting its players. Episodes will roll out on the channel beginning today, starting with one focusing on the Seattle Mariners and catcher Cal Raleigh. Hayley McKinney of Mackinnon and Saunders co-produced the series and handled the stop-motion animation.

The channel will also license new and existing baseball-themed content from educational company ABCmouse. They plan to make 17 videos together by the end of the year, says Gordon Lessersohn, the MLB’s senior director of youth content strategy and initiatives. The MLB and ABCmouse previously partnered in 2025 to make a series of educational videos about the sport, including “123s of Baseball,” which has more than three million views. These videos are also included in the deal.
