Scott Carroll elevated to WildBrain’s global head of animation
The former Blue Sky Studios and Mikros Animation head has been tapped to lead WildBrain’s animation output, operations and project oversight. WildBrain EVP of content creation Stephanie Betts hired Carroll last year as head of character animation for the upcoming Peanuts feature film Snoopy Unleashed (pictured), and the team has been “excited” to bring his expertise and leadership to the company, a spokesperson tells Kidscreen. Carroll has proven himself to be the “perfect fit” to handle WildBrain’s growing slate. “Our team, clients and fans are in great hands!” the spokesperson noted. Some of Carroll’s credits from when he was global head of animation at Mikros include Plankton: The Movie, Orion and the Dark and the upcoming PAW Patrol film.
Jakks Pacific hires Monster High creator Garrett Sander
Garrett Sander, the creator of Monster High, who has worked at Mattel, Moose Toys and Just Play in product design roles, is taking his expertise to Jakks Pacific as a senior director of girls product design. He started this week, Jakks has confirmed to Kidscreen. Working on Jakks’ fashion dolls, Sander will utilize his experience designing for brands such as Polly Pocket and Winx Club. Jakks sells multiple licensed dolls, including a line of Disney Princess dolls, as well as its own Perfectly Cute brand of baby dolls and accessories. The company could be aiming to create a new hit in its dolls segment after net sales in its dolls, role-play and dress-up category were down 32% in Q1 2026 to US$37.5 million.
