Mattel taps one of its EMEA vets to lead activations for Barbie
Nicolas Houssin, a 24-year Mattel marketing vet, is moving from London to LA to take on the role of global marketing activation head for Barbie & dolls. The former Mattel EMEA marketing VP has held multiple roles at the toy company, including marketing director for Mattel France and country manager for Mattel Iberia. Barbie, one of Mattel’s biggest brands, is getting its first-ever animated theatrical film, which is in development now through a deal Mattel Studios signed with Illumination.
Lumee taps ex-Moonbug staffer to lead brand partnerships
Genevieve Lett, who previously handled brand partnerships at the home of CoComelon, has joined Lumee, the company that brings IPs from Hasbro and Animaj under one sales roof. She handled brand partnerships at Moonbug, and she’s taking that experience into her gig as Lumee’s head of sales and brand partnerships EMEA. Lumee exclusively reps Hasbro and Animaj’s content for YouTube and FAST channels, so advertisers can go to Lumee to put ads against content from both companies. It’s meant to simplify the ad-buy process, which has been challenging both for kids brands struggling to monetize on YouTube and for advertisers constrained in how to get in front of kids.
