Cartoon Network has picked up the global game show series Hole in the Wall, acquiring 10 new episodes from producer FremantleMedia North America.
The half-hour program will join Cartoon Network’s slate of shows in the genre, including Dude, What Would Happen and Destroy Build Destroy. Casting and production will begin shortly for the game show, which had a short-lived stint on Fox. The series features two teams of families in competition as they face a series of moving barriers with different Tetris-like shapes.
Hole in the Wall first launched on Japan’s Fuji TV in July 2006, where it continues to lead in its timeslot. FremantleMedia currently produces versions of the series in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, Colombia, Denmark, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Malaysia, Mexico, Russia, Sweden and the UK.
