British indie TV producer Calon has sold its talent show spoof puppet series Zoo Factor (13 x 20 minutes) to Australia’s public broadcaster ABC TV.
The deal, which was brokered at this year’s MIPTV, is the latest in an ongoing partnership between Calon and ABC TV Australia, which has bought the rights to four of Calon’s UK-made children’s TV series in the last two years.
Aimed at six to twelve -year-olds, the series, which parodies TV talent shows like Britain’s Got Talent and X Factor, was first screened in the UK in April 2010 on BBC2. It is a coproduction between Calon and Ireland’s Telegael.
ABC Enterprises has also confirmed a deal to release Calon’s preschool series Hana’s Helpline on DVD in Australia. The stop-motion series follows the adventures of an aunt duck who helps her young animal friends solve their problems.
