New preschool block NBC Kids to launch

In a move to reach a wider audience and provide educational programming for preschoolers that promotes active lifestyles, NBC will premiere its new three-hour Saturday morning block, NBC Kids, on July 7.

In a move to reach a wider audience and provide educational programming for preschoolers that promotes active lifestyles, NBC will premiere its new three-hour Saturday morning block, NBC Kids, on July 7.

The new block will be programmed by 24-hour preschool channel Sprout, which reaches more than 50 million homes and is owned by partners NBCUniversal, PBS, Sesame Workshop and Apax Funds.

Shows making their US debuts on NBC Kids include Coolabi’s Poppy Cat, The Wiggles, Sprout’s long-form series Noodle & Doodle, The Jim Henson Company’s Pajanimals, Justin Time from guru, and get-healthy hit series LazyTown.
