Everloop, a new tween-centric social networking company based out of California, has teamed with global science brand The Mad Science Group to launch a social network for kids in the US called The Mad Science Kids Club (www.madsciencekidsclub.com).
Through the collaboration, Mad Science Group will be extending social media benefits to its customers and leveraging Everloop’s COPPA-compliant platform.
The Mad Science Kids Club will offer an array of features, including IM, email, SMS, VoIP, a friend stream, a game arcade and widgets. Naturally, The Mad Science Kids Club will also offer science-based applications, an expert panel, science experiments, puzzles and book clubs.
All members joining the network will be required to have parental authorization and consent. Parents will have access to a patent-pending privacy panel where they can set security features as well as receive reports related to their child’s community activities. Moderation technology will also include IM chat-filtering and content blocking. Starting with an invite-only beta phase, The Mad Science Kids Club will launch in the third quarter of this year.
