Pan Euro character confectionery maker Bon Bon Buddies group (BBB) has acquired the business and assets of Derbyshire, England-based chocolate and confectionery production company Dovedale Confectionery from administrators PricewaterhouseCoopers, via its new subsidiary BBB Dovedale.

BBB Dovedale has BRC-accredited chocolate and confectionery production facilities based in Derbyshire and currently manufactures mostly for private-label customers. BBB will focus on growing Dovedale’s trade customer base as well as expanding production to include some of the BBB current chocolate product categories.

BBB plans to further invest in Dovedale to offer a UK production source and an alternative to other UK and non-UK based co-manufacturers, elevating BBB’s European presence in the competitive chocolate production market.

The deal follows BBB’s recent acquisition of TeePee Creative (licensed confectionery toy and gift products) and Kshocolât (premium gift chocolate brand), and was supported by debt funding provided by RBS’s Corporate & Institutional Banking team.
