The BBC has commissioned a third series of Adastra Creative’s Grandpa in my Pocket as well as a Christmas special adventure set to air on CBeebies.

Adastra is creating 13 new episodes of the preschool series aimed at the four to six age group. Decode Enterprises, the distribution subsidiary of DHX Media, which has the worldwide television, DVD and consumer products rights for Grandpa in my Pocket, will again be distributing both the series and the special.

The associated licensing program is set to benefit from the new shows. In 2009, DHX Licensing signed agent and brand developer Brandzoo as the show’s licensing agent for the UK. Brandzoo is now working with the brand performance agency Red Central on translating Grandpa in my Pocket into a range of licensed products launching later this year that includes publishing, apparel and toys.

Licensing activity is also moving overseas, as entertainment-focused licensing agent Stella Projects has been appointed to bring the brand into Australia.
