Paris-based Moonscoop is moving into live action with brand-new series Super Sportlets, aimed at kids aged five to nine.
Currently being co-produced with Holland’s Kids Workout Factory, which developed the original idea, and Ireland’s Telegael, Super Sportlets is a 26 x 11-minute live-action series shot on a green screen stage and then composited with CGI backgrounds and special effects. The series is set to launch at MIPTV 2010 and global distribution will be handled by Moonscoop with the exception of the Benelux, which will be managed by Kids Workout Factory. The first 26 eps will be ready for delivery in the second half of 2010.
Super Sportlets features four young, college-aged aliens whose mission on Earth is to stop bad guy Rudy Rude from robbing kids of their energy and turning them into videogame playing, junk food-eating, couch potatoes.
Super Sportlets originated from Dutch-language show Sportlets that aired on Nickelodeon Benelux in 2007.
