National Geographic Kids has upped Nancy Laties Feresten, Eva Absher, and Jennifer Emmett in its kids publishing and media and children’s books groups.

Ferensten (pictured), who joined National Geographic in 1999, has been promoted from VP and editor-in-chief of Children’s Books to SVP of Kids Publishing and Media and will report to Melina Bellows, National Geographic Society’s EVP and CCO of Books, Kids and Family. In her new role, she will oversee the kids content development team covering magazines, books, digital products, online, and television.

Also in Kids Publishing and Media, Absher has been promoted to design director and will oversee all product design for Kids Publishing and Media including magazines, books, web, tv, and digital publishing. She will also serve as Nat Geo Kids’ visual brand expert for the Society.

Rounding out the promotions, Emmett is now the VP and editorial director of Children’s Books after serving as editorial director since 2010 where she helped streamline the book acquisition process and strengthen team publishing strategies.
