Wayne, New Jersey-based Toys ‘R’ Us will begin its annual Autism Speaks fundraising campaign on Sunday February 28 and continue it through Friday, April 30.
The campaign will collect donations to the charity through all Toys ‘R’ Us and Babies ‘R’ Us stores in the US, and online at Toysrus.com/AutismSpeaks.
The charity is dedicated to increasing awareness of autism disorders and fund research into causes, prevention and treatment of the disorder.
All money raised through the store channels and the Walk Now for Autism Speaks events will go directly to Autism Speaks to support research and advocacy efforts. The Toys ‘R’ Us Children’s Fund kicked off the 2010 campaign by providing a US$400,000 grant to Autism Speaks. Customers who donate US$10 or more at any location in the US will receive a reusable shopping bag designed by talented autistic artist James Hogarth, while supplies last.
