PBS Kids scores high marks in new study

A new independent study of US residents has found that PBS Kids is the most-trusted source for children's educational programming across the country.

A new independent study of US residents has found that PBS Kids is the most-trusted source for children’s educational programming across the country.

Compiled during December 2009 and January 2010 by non-partisan, international research company GfK Roper Public Affairs & Media, the study was commissioned by PBS and included 1,002 participants, ages 25 or older, across the US.

It found that PBS Kids received 21% of the top ratings from respondents as the ‘most educational media brand’. As well 67% of respondents stated that PBS’ children service is ‘very important’ compared to 49% for cable and 44% of commercial broadcast television.

Finally, 89% of respondents believe that it is ‘very important’ for PBS to provide children’s programming.
