Women in Children’s Media has relaunched as Children’s Media Association (CMA), partnered with Sesame Workshop and announced new board members.
The rebrand, which will help the nonprofit organization better serve the children’s media community, will see CMA continue to offer its members exclusive networking opportunities and events, as well as access to more resources and industry leaders through its newly expanded website www.cmanyc.org.
Sesame Workshop has also partnered with CMA to support its ongoing growth. Four CMA-hosted events are scheduled for October including the first on October 10 – a puppetry workshop with acclaimed puppeteer John Tartaglia (Johnny and the Sprites).
In other CMA news, Jocelyn Christie, VP and publisher of Kidscreen; David Kleeman, president of the American Center for Children and Media; and Nicole Goldman, SVP of marketing and PR for The Jim Henson Company, have been named to the CMA’s board of directors.
The new members join existing directors Amy Friedman, president of Redhead Consulting; Donna Friedman Meir, president of Lemonade Creative Consulting; Angela Santomero, co-founder of Out of the Blue Enterprises and creator/executive produce of Blue’s Clues, Super Why & Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood; and Livia Beasley, freelance writer, producer, developer and founder of Women in Children’s Media.
