People moves: Disney Store brings on new marketing veep

Putting his extensive retail marketing and franchise development experience to good use, Damon Whiteside has been named the new VP of marketing of Disney Store North America.

Putting his extensive retail marketing and franchise development experience to good use, Damon Whiteside has been named the new VP of marketing of Disney Store North America.

He comes at a good time, with a new store design slated for launch this summer across more than 300 stores. Whiteside will manage key global marketing initiatives, as well as leading the North American marketing strategy through in-store brand positioning and franchise development.

Whiteside has been with the House of Mouse for the last dozen years through various divisions, including Walt Disney Studios in film distribution and in-theater marketing, as well as Disney Music Group as head of marketing for Walt Disney Records.
