Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products Europe has inked a number of deals to usher in the new year.

The consumer products arm of the company has inked its first licensing agreements for SpongeBob SquarePants in the Czech Republic, following a deal with Prague-based Cartoon Mania. It’s a two-year multi-territory deal that will produce branded nightwear, underwear, t-shirts and accessories for a core-kid demo.

In Germany, NVCP has signed a deal with Schwager und Steinlein Verlag to launch SpongeBob SquarePants sticker books in the Austrian, German and Swiss markets. In Italy, balloon maker Grabo has signed up to produce SpongeBob SquarePants balloons, while Winning Moves, owner of the Top Trumps brand, will develop SpongeBob SquarePants Top Trump sets for the UK.

On the broadcast side, MTV Networks International has just sold three seasons of Avatar: The Legend of Aang to Korean cartoon channel Tooniverse. As well, Korean terrestrial channel EBS has picked up the second season of Wonder Pets!.
