Malibu, California-based Jakks Pacific is getting into the content creation game through a strategic partnership with advertising giant Dentsu to develop a toon series based on Monsuno, a new original boys action property.

The property is being simultaneously developed as a 52-ep animated series and a toy property targeted to boys six to 11. It will be launched in 2011 throughout North America, Europe and Asia.

Monsuno, which is based on the concept of re-discovered monster DNA that adventure-seeking boys explore, will be developed by Jakks and Dentsu in conjunction with Dentsu subsidiary, DCI-LA. Mitsuharu Inoue, a former producer of Bakugan Battle Brawlers, the series based on the bestselling Bakugan toy line from Spin Master, is on-board as creative director. DCI-LA, meanwhile, will handle program distribution and L&M efforts, outside of toys. Jakks will be producing those.
