Ratings Watch: Cartoon Network, Disney Channel

The premiere of 90-minute live action CGI film Ben 10: Alien Swarm (Wednesday, November 25, 7 p.m.) was tops with key kids and boys demos for Cartoon Network, bringing in more than four million total viewers.

It was both broadcast and cable television’s number one telecast ranking of the day among all kids and boys demos, bringing in triple-digit delivery and ratings gains across the board, making CN the most-watched net of the day in total and primetime with boys six to 11 and nine to 14. The movie was also ranked second in the kidnet’s history for an original movie premiere delivery of kids six to 11, (1,512,000) and kids nine to 14 (1,182,000), as well as ranking second as the CN telecast this year among boys two to 11 (1,413,000) and boys six to 11 (1,154,000), both behind Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins.

Meanwhile, the month of November was a winning one for Disney Channel, as it landed the top three TV series in tweens nine to 14 and three of the top four in kids six to 11 with Phineas and Ferb, The Suite Life on Deck and Wizards of Waverly Place.

DC was cable’s number one network in primetime in kids six to 11 and tweens nine to 14. In total day, it also saw its largest November audience. Phineas was TV’s number one series in kids six to 11, and with tweens nine to 14. With the latter, Suite Life and Wizards rounded out TV’s top three series in November, and the top four with kids six to 11, with Wizards in third and Suite Life placing fourth.

Meanwhile, Playhouse Disney’s Mickey Mouse Clubhouse came in as the month’s fifth ranked TV series in the target preschool demo of kids two to five.
