San Francisco-based Fingerprint Digital has introduced a new multiplayer mobile gaming platform for kids ages three to 12 on its game network, and the company will launch more than 40 new titles this year on the new platform, which boasts enhanced social and safety features.

The new Fingerprint platform connects each child to his/her games, friends, messages and digital rewards.  New features also include a share family account that tracks game play and learning milestones.

The first app out of the gates is entitled The Flying Alphabetinis.  Five new apps, including titles based on popular children’s properties like Franklin & Friends, VeggieTales, Caillou, and Minuscule are expected in the coming months.  Kids Learn Mandarin from educational game developer Digital Learning Company, which teaches kids to speak, read and write in Mandarin Chinese using 200 games, will also debut on the new platform.

To date, kids have logged more than 20 million minutes on Fingerprint’s educational apps, which include Big Kid Life Fire Fighter, Big Kid Life Vet, Big Kid Life Fairy Princess and Play Maker.

The platform’s library will now be upgraded to take advantage of the new multiplayer and safety features. The apps are currently available on iOS platforms and will expand to Android devices early this year.

The new features come on the heels of a recent partnership with UK mobile developer Mindshapes for new story-based apps.
