We’re nearing the tail end of MIPCOM, but sales are going strong. Read on to catch up on the latest news from Cannes.

French distributor PGS Entertainment has racked up a number of global sales for The Little Prince of Saint Exupéry (52 x half hours). Broadcasters picking up the series include France 3 (France), WDR (Germany), Rai (Italy), TV2 (Denmark), TV2 (Norway), ABC (Australia), MTV3 (Finland) and TSR (Switzerland). The HD CGI series is a co-production with Method Animation, the Saint Exupéry Estate, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, La Fabrique d’Images, DQ Entertainment, ARD and RAI Fiction. SPHE handles distribution in Asia along with worldwide home video (excluding North America) and SAARC by DQE.

The Jim Henson Company will be chugging onto Discovery Kids Latin America with Dinosaur Train (40 x half hours). The broadcasters will air the CGI-animated preschool series across the region, teaching young viewers about natural science, natural history and paleontology.

Talelight Films and cartoon producer Bardel Entertainment have struck a multi-year deal to jointly make movies, TV series and online properties. The first project from the new Vancouver-based companies is The Library of Eternity, a live action/animation hybrid series about two teenagers that get lost in classic literary tales. Talelight co-founder Jeff Richards wrote the script. The pact enables the company to diversify away from movie production as Bardel gets into live action product.

Looking to build the Daktari Park brand, Fitz Roy Media and Magic Lantern Entertainment will be producing a slew of entertainment projects inspired by African animal stories and the experiences of wildlife veterinarian Dr. Sue Hart. The two are already in development on a feature film, TV series and direct-to-DVD concepts to bring in new generations of viewers. Production is set to begin in 2010.
