BBC Worldwide Channels has commissioned a new live-action kids series to air on CBeebies channels across the globe.
The live-action Penelope K, By The Way (25 x 12 minutes) from Sydney-based Blink Films was picked from more than 100 submissions, and it will debut on CBeebies Australia in 2010, followed by the UK and then worldwide.
Penelope K follows the title character who runs an Information Station, which doles out all the info you’ve ever wanted to know about anything from rainbows to kangaroo pouches. As a result of Penelope K’s short-term memory, she relies on her friends to help her remember the information.
The series will be produced in association with production partner Freehand.
