The two-day Brand Licensing event in London has come to a close today, followed by a number of sealed deals. Read on to find out about the latest L&M activity.

As preschool animated series Tinga Tinga Tales from Tiger Aspect preps for its broadcast debut on CBeebies in early 2010, Classic Media has tapped Bandai to take on the master toy rights to the property.

Bandai’s range of toy products are slated for a UK launch in late 2010, and other territories included are North and South America, the EMEA and an option on Australasia. Bandai will participate in the brand’s philanthropic activity benefiting Africa.

BBC Worldwide has also found a UK master toy partner for its preschool property ZingZillas, teaming up with Vivid Imaginations.

The multi-year deal will see the toyco also taking on the manufacturing rights for the EMEA, Australia and New Zealand. Rolling out in time for Christmas 2010 will be music-themed plush, plastics, playsets, role-play, selected outdoor products and games.

Start Licensing has a number of Big and Small products rolling out this fall, and joining its roster of licensees is Zak!, which will be producing branded lunchboxes and drinkwear in 2010.

Paramount Licensing has turned to three new outfits to rep its consumer products activities in the European market, signing The Licensing Company (TLC) in the UK, Spain’s Biplano and Italian indie agency Backstage.

The three new partners will be looking toward long-term brand extensions, initially looking at the studio’s library of films (i.e. Grease), along with upcoming film such as The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, slated for a fall 2011 release in Europe. They’ll be developing CP programs based on Paramount’s properties, first focusing on fashion and accessories, publishing, toys and games, gifts and collectibles, bedding and room décor, and food and beverage, then look at promotions in areas such as food, cars, insurance and travel, and will work with major retailers for special offerings.
